When can I begin?

What should I wear?

Wear anything YOU will be comfortable in!

Fitted workout clothes work best.

You do not need to show your belly (unless you want to).

Many people find that a hip scarf or sash allows them

to see the movements of their hips more easily.

Please no “noisy” scarves, such as ones with loud coins,

as it can make it hard to hear the instructor

and is distracting to other students.

Bellydance is usually done in bare feet but our studio has carpeted floors, so  socks or half sole dance shoes or jazz shoes will be perfect!

Please note that no street shoes are allowed in our studio.

What else should I bring?

A notebook and water bottle are recommended.

You will also need zils (finger cymbals) at some point,

which will be available to purchase.

How long will it take to learn?

Every student is unique and will therefore progress at a different pace.

This is dependent on several factors, including how connected

the student is to her body when she begins and how much she practices at home.

If the only time you do these moves is one hour a week in class,

it will take longer than if you set aside some time during the week to practice.
